Good mac miller songs to smoke to

After moving to L. Even in his romantic posture, Miller places himself outside the industry; outside its deathly culture of abuse. Miguel A booming piece of skittering drums and bursting strings with a dance-y breakdown aimed squarely at the hip-hop that was working on the charts in However, at this point, far removed from the carefree early days of his teens, there are regrets creeping into the hedonism.

He spits along the spine of the widening, synth-focused beat, bounces off-kilter at the turn of the phrase and appropriately self-references his own improvement as an artist: S was at once a cry for action to the outside world while stating his purpose plainly: Listener discretion advised: The song, now painful to listen to, is the best example of how simply and directly he was capable of laying out exactly what he was going through on record.

I've been a fan of Mac for a while now and it's cool to see how he progressed through the years. I needed this guide I've been lazy about getting back into listening to mac been wanting to since faces dropped. I'm surprised you didn't mention anything about Colors and Shapes off of New faces. That song, in my opinion, is living proof of just how versatile Mac is capable of being as an artist and just how lyrical he really is.

You like that track? If you're going to listen to Space Migration Tour, his live version of REMember is so much more powerful and emotional than the album version; I highly recommend it.

Mac Miller has lost a lot of followers over the past few years, but I think it's one of the best transitions a rapper has gone through. His new music is almost unrecognisable from his old in terms of the productions and lyricism. Some could argue that it's simply Mac's way of staying relevant in the rap scene, but I believe that he always had a huge creative output; he's just using it to his fullest and he doesn't give a fuck about falling under one category. Tracks like Avian and Diablo are to me some of his best. I'm the same way. I love his old shit. I could give a fuck about how corny his lyrics were cuz his flow was the smoothest I had heard in a very long time and most of the beats fucking BANG.

I'm not gonna say his new stuff sucks, his lyrical skill has improved dramatically, but he just sounds so unenthused and bored now and the beats sound a bit I'll be a lifelong fan of Mac and will buy every album he drops just so I can support the guy, but with the direction he's going I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy his music as much as I used to. I'll stick to his production work, as it's actually pretty good.

He just sounds like White Earl Sweatshirt now, and his old stuff is just white boy shit. This might make me sounds like a hipster or whatever but you gotta show The Jukebox: That stuff is great, I still bump some of the songs off Jukebox. I think this is a great guide for people who aren't familiar with Mac's music. It touches lightly on his career with good explanation.

Honestly it's hard to say but Mac might be my favorite artist purely because I can relate so well.

Kids came out when I was fourteen and I feel like I aged with Mac. His new shit is so on point and I'm starting to lose interest in anything pre macadelic. Do you respect him, even though there is concrete evidence that he has stole beats at least one given to him by producers? Do you have a source on how he was able to buy a house with money he made from a free mixtape or are you just assuming his upper middle class parents had nothing to do with it? I can't link you the exact source but I'm sure that was on a Complex feature I know that his parents were not upper middle class, more like middle to lower middle class.

His mom is a pretty decent photographer here. Are you even from Pittsburgh or do you treat online articles and quotes as gospel? No, I'm not from Pittsburgh and as for the articles, do you trust Wikipedia? Because everyone can write something on there, and yet it is used by pretty much every student on planet Earth.

So why shouldn't I trust a hip-hop magazine writer? Besides, this is a music post, not his damned biography. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. All rights reserved. Want to join? Log in or sign up in seconds. Submit a new link. Submit a new text post.

A Quick Introduction Mac Miller's music can be divided into two, distinct phases, with a very different sound: So, let's get started: The High Life [Mixtape] The High Life marks the proper introduction of Mac Miller into the world of professional hip-hop, granting him enough local success to ensure him lots of sold-out shows in his hometown of Pittsburgh and in Pennsylvania.

Standout Tracks: Best Day Ever [Mixtape] This was the mixtape that made him an international superstar. Blue Slide Park Named after the Pittsburgh park, up until this album, his debut album, Mac Miller had built so much hype that it was inevitable to see this album skyrocket to the top of the charts on its first week of sales, setting the record for most successful independent album of all time.

Mac Miller - Smokin - Lyrics

I think that the album is far from perfect, and a bit redundant if you listen to it as a whole, but it surely has got its fair share of good pieces, such as: Macadelic [Mixtape] This mixtape marks the start of Mac Miller's second artistic phase. Live From Space [Live Album] This is not your usual live album, because it's not just a recording of him performing his usual songs at a show.

FACES [Mixtape] His latest mixtape, although on the same wave length of Macadelic and WMWTSO, starts to bend a little towards a more alternative, and a touch brighter, direction, and also features much more production by himself, as he's getting much better. I believe that once someone gets hooked they'll find out soon enough about that stuff ; EDIT 3: Want to add to the discussion? Post a comment! Create an account. Felt like it was totally phoned in. Stage 1. The Party: Stage 2. The Hangover: Macadelic stage "Morning after, my lungs hurt" -The Mourning After Doesn't expand too much into deeper topics, but has went from hero back to zero mentally.

Starting to be more introspective about what he's doing with his life and isn't really glorifying drugs anymore Stage 3: I'd rephrase it into Step 1: Fuck me. From step 3 to step 1. Not fight the feeling.

Welcome to Reddit,

Thomas one of my favorites. I don't I don't know what to say. It isn't bad. Nevermind, I think I found it. I must really be out of touch. Nice work. Or at least that's the way I interpret it? I found it very helpful. Good work man. Easy Mac with the cheesy raps. You by Larry Lovestein. I don't know why people disliked it.
